A patient suffering from periodontal disease will have his jaws weaken which eventually is the reason why dentist suggests him to undergo Bone Grafting procedure.
Bone grafts are bone that is transplanted from one area of the body to your jaw to aid in healing, strengthening or improving function. This procedure is possible because unlike other tissues from our body, the bone tissue has the characteristic to regrow. But the requirement here is that the tissue should get space to regrow. Osteoconduction, osteoinduction and osteogenesis are three natural phenomenon that assist in bone grafting a successful procedure.
Bone grafting is most commonly used in Dental Implants. The reason why it is most commonly used in implants is because Dental Implants require bones just below them to support them and this also ensure proper alignment into the mouth.
Dental bone grafting is a surgical procedure which is carried out to anew the bone that has been lost.
