Smiling can help transform your day: Check out these fun facts about smiling
Smiling
“A smile is the happiness that you wear under your nose” – Tom Wilson. Truer words spoken here by this great writer. Today we wont be discussing about anything serious such dental cavities or periodontal disease or root canal treatment. Instead we will discuss something fun. We will discuss about smile and the benefits of smiling.
Do you know that smiling is second most favorite habit out of 43 habits of absolutely happy people. Smiling and happiness are inter-related so if you are smiling even when faced with difficult situations then no one can stop you from being happy. So today let us explore the benefits of smiling
Smiling makes you look attractive
Ever heard this old adage: Smile more often coz you might know who falls in love with your smile. Old but true. As per a research it was found out that we find those people really attractive who always wear a smile on their face. Let’s understand it this way – You have a childhood buddy. You love spending time with him/her as they are full of life, energy and keeps you happy. One fine day you notice that the same friend is gloomy, sad, frowning on little things, yelling at you for no reason. Will you still find them as attractive as before? Well you won’t judge them but you will still tell them that “You don’t look attractive now as you looked before”. This is the power of smile. Smiling can make you look younger and keep your and the spirit of everybody around you alive.
Smiling is contagious
Try this experiment next time you travel in public transport – Pass a warm smile to any stranger you meet enroute to your work. Check the reply. You will notice that he/she will reply with a smile (But here make sure you don’t pass on a lecherous smile as that’s gonna backfire big time). Even when you are in a bad mood and you see a smiling baby video or some funny cat video you will automatically have huge smile on your face. So this is another power of smile. If someone in your group is smiling you will automatically end up smiling. You can brighten someone’s day by simply passing on a smile to them.
Smiling helps you grow old in a sexy fashion
Okay so here is another fact – If you just keep smiling all through your life that doesn’t mean you wont grow old or won’t get wrinkles. Getting wrinkles is a part of aging process and we cannot escape that. This statement simply means that as you grow old you will still be remembered as someone who always had a smile on his/her face. When you grow old you want people to remember for the work that you have done and your contributions to the society. If you have made people smile all through your life then you are one heck of an oldie. So just keep smiling and keep making people smile.
Smiling makes you feel good
You are smiling because you are having a gala time with friends, family or at times alone. When you smile you release serotonin – this is a neurotransmitter and is known to produce feelings of happiness and well being. So basically this neurotransmitter (a kind of chemical) sends signal from one area of brain to another. So if you feel happy this neurotransmitter will send a signal to make you smile and eventually you end up smile and start feeling good.
Smiling helps you build relationships
No body wants to be around a crying and frowning soul. Everyone loves to be surrounded by people who brightens their day. When you meet someone for the first time and they meet you with a warmth you will be genuinely interested in more about that person. You will have this sudden reaction – “Man this person is amazing”. There is more to it. When you are liked by someone they will surely pass on a smile when they see you. A simple example here – Go back to your school days and remember your first crush. Didn’t you have a smile on your face whenever you saw him/her. When meeting someone for the first time smiling plays an important role in making the first impression.
So what is the road map happiness and smile? Its simple – Just smile. Keep visualizing your happy moments. We come across a lot of challenging situations in our life and as humans we tend to break down in these situations. As per the universal law you attract what you feel. Your thoughts and feelings has a tremendous impact on your behavior. During this stage all you have to do is visualize things that make you happy.
