Dental Care 101
Are dental X-Rays safe?
To be honest with you, exposure to radiation isn’t safe. So whether it is the sun or the dental x-rays, they have the tendency to damage body cells and which can lead to cancer. However when you undergo dental x-ray be rest assured that the dose of radiation is not high.
All this has been made possible with the help of advanced technology which has made it possible to use low radiation levels. With the invention of new digital X-ray machines, higher speed X-ray films and film holders have made it convenient and safe for patients. Off late we have also seen the use of lead-lined, full-body aprons which protect the body from radiation. So yes, dental x-rays are absolutely safe.
I have no idea about dental sealant and what role they play in dental care.
To prevent tooth decay, your dentist will be using a thin plastic coating which is painted on the chewing surface of the teeth. This is called as sealant and has the ability to bond really quickly with the crevices of your teeth. It works as a protective shield for enamel.
Once you have sealants set up make sure you visit your nearest dental clinic so that it can be checked for being worn out or being chipped. It helps in keeping the enamel safe and hence enhances the dental care.
In teeth whitening, how does the teeth whitening toothpaste works and are there any other alternative for teeth whitening procedures?
Teeth whitening is one such dental work which has gained immense popularity over the last one decade. Every single patient that we have catered to have demanded celebrity smile by undergoing celebrity smile surgery. Teeth whitening does not require surgical operation and can be be done either at the clinic or at home. As far as teeth whitening toothpastes are concerned you must first understand the type. All toothpastes have the ability to remove the surface stains and give fresh breath (for a few hours though). Certain toothpastes have chemicals which help in further removal of stains but these whitening toothpastes do not contain bleaching agent hence getting perfectly white teeth is not possible with them.
The other alternative to achieve pearly white teeth is visiting a dentist for laser teeth whitening procedure or you can even get the teeth whitening kit over the counter. These kits contain hydrogen peroxide (bleaching agent) which gives instant result. Laser teeth whitening has become immensely popular because the time taken for getting pearly white teeth is just a couple of hours. The advantage of teeth whitening at the dental clinic is that you get 3-8 times whiter teeth than the conventional methods.
We at Dr. Sunil International Dental Center have been carrying out teeth whitening procedure since a long time and have lived upto the expectations of our patients.

Well, ofcourse you can. There are several options available to change the shape. You can make your teeth look longer or even cover the gap between your teeth. Furthermore you can even repair the chipped teeth or cracked teeth. Following are the dental procedures which you can undergo at Dr. Sunil International Dental Center:
- Dental Bonding: This is a procedure where-in your dentist will be using a tooth colored resin to bond with your natural teeth.
- Dental Crown: These are placed on the chewing surface of the teeth.
- Dental Veneers: These are tooth colored shells which cover the frontal part of the teeth surface.
The cost of these highly popular procedures varies from one patient to another.
How to overcome the fear of dental clinic? I want dental care but I am petrified visiting a dentist.
Dental anxiety or fear is nothing new. Most of the adults feel this and it is perfectly fine of you do so as well. Before undergoing a dental procedure make sure you speak with your dentist. Honestly not everyone is able to help you in overcoming that fear and in case your dentist fails to do so then make sure you seek help from a different dentist. Discuss your fear with your dentist and help him understand your situation and what you expect from treatment. It is important for your dentist to understand your situation so that they can define the entire procedure for you.
At the present times there are procedures which help in reducing the stress. These procedures include the usage of local anesthesia and certain drugs, numbing the area so that you feel no pain.
