Smoking has never proved to do any good to anyone. It is one such habit that is easy to adapt but difficult to quit. No matter what you eat or drink or consume, the very first thing which is affected is your teeth and gums. Smoking and Gum Problems are closely linked, and the damage often goes unnoticed until itโs severe. Similarly, when you smoke your lungs are affected and simultaneously your gums as well. So here I will be listing Smoking and Gum Problems that are caused due to smoking and how it happens.
The most common dental problems that are caused due to smoking are:-
Smoking and other tobacco items can prompt gum ailment by influencing the connection of bone and delicate tissue to your teeth. All the more particularly, it gives the idea that smoking meddles with the normal functionality of gum tissue cells. This obstruction makes smokers more prone to contamination, for example, periodontal sickness, furthermore appears to deteriorate blood stream to the gums – which may influence wound healing.
It doesn’t matter what you smoke – Pipe, Cigar, Cigarette or even smokeless tobacco products- it is all harmful because its been proven that Pipe, Cigar, Cigarette or smokeless tobacco products have nearly 28 chemicals that increase the risk of Oral Cancer. Smokeless Tobacco is found to contain sand and grit which is even more harmful for your gums.
There are multiple ways where in you can curb the feeling of smoking. For example there are nicotine chewing gums available over the counter or there are some herbal remedies which you can undergo. Do anything you can but quit smoking before its too late.
