The process of placing a Dental Crown
Generally this procedure includes two visits. In the first visit, the damaged tooth is reduced, trimmed, shaped so a crown can fit over it, during this step, your gums likely be numbed so you can’t feel any kind of pain. Then an impression of that tooth is taken and sent to the laboratory for crown fabrication. A temporary crown is fitted over the tooth until the permanent crown is made. On the next visit, the temporary crown is removed and the permanent crown is placed over the tooth and checked for comfort and fit.
