Root Canal is one of the most feared Dental Treatment. We get chills down the spine when our dentist tells us that we need to undergo this treatment. We clench our teeth in fear and nervousness and the reason is that we are so much bounded by myths about this treatment that it is difficult for us to accept it. I was once prescribed to undergo this treatment and trust me I was no different. I too was feared but while I was undergoing the treatment it was entirely different experience.
We fail to understand that technology is so advanced now that it has changed the way Root Canal treatment is being done. So I have listed 10 myths and fact about root canal treatment but before we start to learn about these myths let us first understand what is Root Canal Treatment. Also known as Endodontic Procedure, this is one of the most common problem faced by us these days.
There are countless people who undergo this procedure. So when a dentist talks to you about undergoing an “Endodontic Procedure” then do not get petrified. He is talking about Root Canal Treatment. Just like you there will be millions of people who will be undergoing Root Canal. The reason why we undergo this treatment is when the sift tissue located inside the Root Canal gets infected. The infection is caused by : tooth decay, multiple dental procedures or damage to teeth because of accident. When we injure our tooth, it will cause the pulp to be damaged as well. Even if you do not see any damage tooth after an accident it’s better to see a dentist so that he can make out whether the pulp is damaged or not.
