Thailand Dental Crowns

Thailand Dental Crowns are an excellent solution for restoring damaged, weakened, or aesthetically unappealing teeth. Before placing a crown, the tooth must be carefully reduced in size, typically around 1.2 to 1.5 mm all over. This precise preparation process takes about one hour for 8–10 crowns and approximately two hours for 20 crowns. Once the teeth are prepared, impressions are taken and sent to the dental laboratory for fabrication. Temporary crowns are placed to ensure patient comfort and appearance during this stage.

Types of Crowns

There are several types of crowns available at Dr. Sunil International Dental Clinic, each offering unique benefits depending on the patient’s needs and aesthetic goals.

1. All-Ceramic Crowns

These crowns are made entirely from porcelain and are often chosen for cosmetic reasons. Popular options include Lava, E-Max, and Empress Esthetics, which offer a natural color match and lifelike translucency. All-ceramic crowns are ideal for front teeth and premolars, providing a highly aesthetic and metal-free solution.

2. Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal Crowns

Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns combine strength and beauty. They have a durable metal core underneath a layer of porcelain, allowing them to withstand strong biting forces. These crowns are perfect for molars and come in three material grades:

  • Non-precious metal
  • Semi-precious (2%)
  • Semi-precious (50%)

The higher the precious metal content, the longer the lifespan and the lesser the chance of a dark line appearing at the gum line.

3. Metal Crowns

Made from high-quality alloys such as gold, palladium, or titanium, metal crowns are known for exceptional durability. They are typically used for back molars where space is limited and strength is essential. These crowns resist wear and rarely chip or break, offering long-term reliability.

Crowns and Bridges

Crowns, also known as tooth caps, are restorations that completely cover or encase a damaged tooth or dental implant. They are bonded securely with advanced resin cement to restore function and aesthetics. Thailand Dental Crowns are often recommended for:

  • Protecting weak teeth from decay or fracture
  • Holding together parts of a cracked tooth
  • Restoring severely worn-down teeth from grinding or acid erosion
  • Covering discolored or misshapen teeth
  • Cosmetic improvements or alignment correction

Dental Bridges

A dental bridge replaces missing teeth by joining crowns together in one solid structure. The bridge is cemented to natural teeth or implants on either side of the gap, serving as anchors (abutments). The artificial tooth in the middle, called the pontic, restores both appearance and functionality.

A bridge can typically replace up to two missing teeth in a row. The material options are the same as crowns — all-ceramic bridges for the front teeth and porcelain-fused-to-metal for the back, ensuring a seamless, natural look.

Before creating the bridge, the supporting teeth (in front and behind the gap) must be reduced by 1.2–1.5 mm. This preparation usually takes about one hour. Afterward, impressions are sent to the lab, and a temporary bridge is fitted for comfort and protection.

Longevity and Maintenance

With proper care, Thailand Dental Crowns and bridges can last for many years. While they may occasionally loosen or fall out, advancements in dental materials — particularly the new generation 3M resin cement used at Dr. Sunil International Dental Clinic — have significantly reduced these risks.

To ensure lasting results, patients should:

  • Brush at least twice daily with a soft-bristle toothbrush
  • Floss carefully around crowns and bridges
  • Schedule professional cleaning and check-ups every six months

Consistent oral hygiene and regular dental visits help maintain the strength, beauty, and comfort of your crowns and bridges for years to come.
